I and my girlfriend we both love visiting places with a tranquil atmosphere and a beautiful culture. It’s kindly like medicine for us to release all the stress we had. One day we went Cambodia for more and less 1 week. Cambodia is a country located in the southern portion of the Indochina peninsula in Southeast Asia and has a population of over 15 million.

As soon as we landed in Siem Reap airport, we took a taxi to drop us to our homestay. We did the check-in, chit chats a bit with the owner of the homestay. He’s a French guy married to a local lady. He’s really helpful and suggesting us view places to visit and view good restaurants in there. He booked us a traditional ride that they call it Tuktuk, and our driver name is Putra.

After fresh up, we went to Angkor Ticket Centre located on the corner of Road 60 and the Apsara Road. Was along the way in line before we got the ticket. The ticket is valid for 3 days, it can use as a pass to visit the temples in Angkor Archaeological Park and some other monuments in the Siem Reap area, like Phnom Krom, Wat Athvea and Roluos Group.

We start by visiting Angkor Wat Temple than back to our homestay, and get ready for dinner and Pub Street, the busiest place at night. The following day we continue our trip to the other temples with the same pass. All the temples have wonderful architecture and stories.

We are done with the temples and monuments. The next day we went to a restaurant to do a cooking class that we’ve booked before. To be honest, Cambodian food is not one of our favourites, but we love to learn. Before we start, we walk to the nearest market to buy all the ingredient we need. There’re so many new things we saw in the market that we don’t have in our Country. It was a good experience with the local chef.

After the cooking class, our driver Putra took us to Central Market. Central Market is an Art Deco landmark of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. He drops us in the parking area and we suppose to meet in the next 2hours. We enjoy the market and walking around to see if we can get anything to bring back home. Until we realize that we were walking and ending always in the same corner.

We get lost!!! Lost in Central Market, where the people don’t really speak English. Then there’s a local teenage come and help us, he showing us the way out of the market. Thanks to this boy, giving a hand without asking. He really presents the warmest of Asian people.

We back to the parking area to see Putra, he’s waiting for us for more than 3hours, oops… but he kept smiling. Thank you, Putra… Thank you, Cambodia…
